The Dior spring 2012 couture collection is reminiscent of Christian Dior himself, and that of John Galliano. New head designer Bill Gaytten proves he can stay true to the labels core beauty and romanticism that we all expect to see from Dior’s couture line. Sheer lightweight material is key to this collection, the structure of the garments are light and completely feminine with clever floral patterns and embroideries to enhance the true loveliness of the collection. The collection seemed to be an homage to the legendary designer himself, by using classic silhouettes that fit a woman’s body like a glove. Gaytten had some big shoes to fit, but he seems to be up for the challenge, and delivering what the fashion industry expects from the famed fashion house with his own interpretation that is synced with the original ideas that made Dior one of the most famous design houses to date.
